America's entanglement with Israel

Press TV: FBI manufactures terrorist plots

Middle East analyst Maidhc Ó Cathail says the Federal Bureau of Investigation has had to “manufacture terrorist plots” in order “to justify all the money being spent on Homeland Security”.

Maidhc Ó Cathail told Press TV’s U.S. Desk on Thursday that the Department of Homeland Security considers “all American Muslims as potential terrorist suspects”.

The investigative journalist said that the FBI even “paid informants, often people with criminal records, to entrap innocent members of the Muslim community”.

Ó Cathail believes that in order to indoctrinate law enforcement officials with the necessary anti-Muslim stereotypes to act against law-abiding American Muslims, Homeland Security has even resorted to employing “so-called terrorism experts like Walid Shoebat”.

It was also revealed that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) paid the notorious Islamophobe $5,000 for a recent appearance at a conference sponsored by the South Dakota Department of Public Safety (DPS).

Ó Cathail said that the Department of Homeland Security was set up almost immediately after 9/11 after Senator Joe Lieberman, one of Israel’s staunchest supporters on Capitol Hill, introduced a bill to establish it on October 11, exactly one month after the September 11 attacks.

Activist Naomi Klein has written that “before 9/11, homeland security barely existed as an industry. By the end of [2007], Israeli exports in the sector will reach $1.2 billion – an increase of 20 percent.”
