America's entanglement with Israel

Mossad conduit wants to interview me on Mossad role in 9/11 and other terrorist attacks

I just received the following rather surprising request via the comments section on my website:

Submitted on 2011/07/18 at 7:26 am

My name is ofer Vlodavsky, I am working as a researcher with Ben Caspit, one of the leading investigative journalists in Israel.

One of the episodes of his show deals with allegations against the mossad. I am approaching you following your interesting articles.

Do you believe that Israel stands behind the attack of 9/11 or any other attacks on the U.S ? Do yo have other evidance regarding mossad’s involvment in key events around the world?

would you be able to interview on this matter via skype at the 20/7?

Best regards
Ofer Vlodavsky

It appears that Mr. Vlodavsky’s boss is quite a media celebrity in Israel. In a February 17 Jerusalem Post op-ed entitled “The Ben Caspit Show,” Yisrael Medad bemoans the Israeli media’s “pretty poor job of providing desperately needed diversity”:

Exhibit 1 is the ubiquitous Ben Caspit, mercurial correspondent and analyst for Ma’ariv. He also appears as a regular on Immanuel Rosen’s new Channel 2 interview program and on Rafi Reshef’s popular morning Army Radio program, as well as on Channel 1’s Press Conference show. He is seen on Politika (Channel 1) and on Mishal Ham (Channel 2), and he was a regular last year for months on Channel 1’s pre-news news show. Caspit’s hop-skip-and-jump performances are not unique; other stars flit from channel to channel, although journalists from other newspapers – for example, The Jerusalem Post, Makor Rishon and Hatzofeh – are seldom seen on TV or heard on radio (though Post writers and editors do get exposure on Israel’s English-language TV and radio, as well as on foreign channels). Clearly, Caspit is all-too-present, preventing the appearances of other personalities with other opinions.

In a March 5, 2010 post on his Tikun Olam blog, Richard Silverstein cites Haaretz journalist Yossi Melman (whom he describes as “a journalist at times sympathetic to the Mossad”):

Even if they aren’t working for the Mossad, many journalists still have overly close relations with the defense establishment. Several Israeli journalists were formerly officers in Military Intelligence, the Mossad or the Shin Bet security service. There are former journalists who switched to the Mossad, and there have been isolated cases of journalists who offered their services to the Mossad while they did their journalistic work and were turned away.

Silverstein, a noted critic on Israeli security matters, adds:

Unfortunately, Melman conveniently doesn’t name names of currently practicing journalists as Mossad conduits. But I’d include Ben Caspit of Maariv on the list.

So, a prominent Israeli journalist known as a Mossad conduit wants to ask me what I know about 9/11?! If Ben Caspit really wants to know more about Israeli involvement in the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, why doesn’t he just ask his intelligence sources to fill him in on the details?

  4. Mike,

I respect your writing but why do you allow Information Clearing House to use your work? They do not allow me to comment on anything which has to do with joseph lieberman senator from my state. I tried recently and they NEVER allow it to be printed probably because I know he is nothing but an Islamophobe and warmonger. he claims to be retiring from running but we can never trust anything he says. he’s probably looking to be appointed to sec of defense. As I said I trust your writing but can’t correspond on ich which I don’t trust.
