In his latest Antiwar.com piece, Philip Giraldi caustically reminds readers of an infamous prediction:

Now that we are leaving, someone should tell former Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz that we taxpayers are still waiting for the war’s estimated $5 trillion costs to be repaid from Iraqi oil revenue.

Of course, Wolfowitz wasn’t the only one with close ties to Israel who got Iraq “wrong.” Former IDF prison guard turned influential pundit Jeffrey Goldberg assured Slate readers on Oct 3, 2002 that “the coming invasion of Iraq will be remembered as an act of profound morality.”
