The Arab Spring: An Open Society Project

Gene Sharp will be speaking in London on January 30 on the theme of “From Dictatorship to Democracy.” The event is being hosted by the Frontline Club, whose founder has kindly offered his large and comfy manor house as a bail haven for Julian Assange, an cause célèbre whose Wikileaks played a key role in fomenting the “Arab Spring.” And guess who is behind Vaughan Smith?

Mr. Smith set up Frontline by borrowing £3 million ($5.7 million) against his family’s estate in Norfolk, England, and has received financing for its events from the Open Society Institute, a philanthropic organization set up by the billionaire investor and philanthropist George Soros.
